Pediatric TMD/Head & Facial Pain

While TMJ / TMD is more commonly seen in adults, children can also suffer from this health issue. The most noticeable symptom we see in children is bruxism, or tooth grinding. Bruxism is not normal, and should not be ignored. In addition, it is classified as a sleep movement disorder. Children do not grow out of bruxism, as commonly thought in the past. It is a hallmark sign of OSA and can begin the path of a lifetime of TMD and orthodontic problems.
